Leadership classes organize clothing drive, food drive

Students at Alberni District High School have stepped up this holiday season, raising donations for the less fortunate in the community.

The school’s junior leadership class held a clothing drive, collecting bags and boxes of winter clothing. Mark Braunagel was at school on Wednesday December 15th to collect their donations and distribute them to people throughout the holiday season.

In the past, the junior leadership class has created “care packages” for the city’s homeless people, filling backpacks full of personal hygiene items and clothing to give to some of the vulnerable people in the city. the city.

The senior ADSS class also organized a school-wide food drive this year, collecting non-perishable food donations for the Salvation Army. On December 16, 2021, students filled the Salvation Army truck with food.
