MODESTO, Calif .– Independent retailer and fuel supplier Boyett Petroleum has completed the purchase of Danielson Fuel Services (DFS) wholesale fuel distribution business in Oklahoma. Boyett is a leading independent fuel supplier and retailer in the western United States.
The acquisition serves as a platform for continued growth and expansion in the Mid-Continent region.
Jerry Danielson founded DFS in 1975, and has grown into a major regional player in the distribution of refined fuel in a four-state region under the management of second generation and current owner Mike Lawson. The company sells branded fuel under the Phillips 66 and Valero banners and unbranded fuel to its retail customers.
DFS’s wholesale portfolio included numerous consignment sites where it owns fuel and manages fuel operations, while the owner of the convenience store controls internal operations. DFS did not sell any company owned and operated stores in connection with the transaction to Boyett.
âOur main goal with this sale was to find a strategic buyer who would maintain the same high standards and values ââtowards our customers and our employees. It has been a privilege to serve and support our loyal customers and local communities and we would like to thank our team of employees for representing our company with honor, âsaid Mike Lawson, President of DFS.
âWe are very excited to acquire Danielson Fuel Services as it further expands our existing operations and provides a growth platform for new, opportunistic geographies of our wholesale business. Mike and their employees have served their customers with dedication and enthusiasm. We look forward to staying on the same service path with passion and commitment, âsaid Dale Boyett, President of Boyett Petroleum. âIntegrating DFS employees into the Boyett team was very important to our management team. “
