By sending a press release and/or subscribing to our service spread the wordyou agree to the following terms of use, limitations, quality policy and fair use policy.
spread the word reserves the right to suspend or delete your account if it is deemed that any of the conditions below have not been met. spread the word reserves the right to remove any content that does not adhere to the following terms and policies.
1. Accuracy
Using spread the word, you agree to publish only information that you know to be true and accurate. You are solely responsible for the facts and accuracy of all information you submit for distribution by spread the word. spread the word will make reasonable efforts to correct any errors of fact brought to its attention.
2. Acceptable Content
You agree to only submit content that could be classified as a “topical announcement”. That is: this is a new event or statement related to the company or organization under which the post is submitted. You agree not to use spread the word to distribute how-to articles, general information articles, white papers or opinion pieces. You must not submit content that infringes the copyright or proprietary rights of any third party, or is illegal or offensive. Releases should adhere to professional standards and may be deleted if not. You acknowledge that we reserve the right to edit the title, subject and body text of your release to ensure that it is appropriate, relevant and fit for purpose.
3. Allocation
You agree to submit content only on behalf of the organization to which the posting is submitted. Content that may be considered misleading in terms of who the material is submitted, or in terms of who the content is linked to, should not be posted and may be removed or edited. When you submit a release, you must be the owner of the email used to send emails via spread the word.
4. Categorization
You agree to classify content only in categories relevant to the content. In general, we advise that attempts to categorize content into more than five categories will result in that content being reviewed and possibly removed. You acknowledge that we reserve the right to modify release tags to ensure that your release is sent only to relevant individuals.
5. Links and fair use
You agree not to add more than one website link in a press release. Overlinking solely for search engine optimization purposes is not permitted and is discouraged due to the penalties that may be associated with overlinking. And our gremlins will track down excessive links and remove those transgressions.
