Syracuse-based Byrne Dairy will expand its presence in Binghamton-area convenience stores.

The company now intends to build a Byrne Dairy & Deli in the village of Whitney Point. Byrne is currently completing work on its first Broome County store in Endicott.

Company vice president Christian Brunelle said the Whitney Point store would be located on Route 11 at River Road. He said two plots for the project are under contract.

Broome County property records show the lots are owned by Charles Manasse.

Brunelle said the company’s presentation to the Whitney Point Village Board was “very well received”.

Plans call for a 5,152 square foot store, which would be larger than Endicott’s location. Brunelle said a car wash is also planned for the Whitney Point project.

Byrne Dairy now operates 63 convenience stores. Construction continues at the Endicott site at East Main Street and Loder Avenue. This store should open at the end of May.
