Carhartt has the outerwear you need to stay warm this winter

There is one weather term that terrifies many of us: polar vortex. If you’ve ever done one, you know the importance of good outerwear. Whether you just walk to work, take a hike, or work outside, warm, durable clothing is worth its weight in gold. It is an investment that no one regrets.

Carhartt has cemented its reputation as a maker of gear that stands up to the elements no matter what you throw at it. This year, Carhartt has expanded its line of cold weather gear to match almost any clothing taste, use and warmth level. Speaking of which, Carhartt has come up with its own heat rating of 1 to 4: Hot, Hottest, Hottest Heat, and Extreme Heat.

Here is a sample of some of the articles Carhartt offers at each rating level:

In the women’s range there is the Rugged Flex Relaxed Fit canvas jacket, which has a mesh lining for added breathability. This jacket also features Rugged Flex® technology, a feature that allows for easy movement. It’s versatile, breathable, and stylish, and it’s available in three colors, with sizes ranging from XS to 3X.

For something more like a traditional down sports jacket, there’s the Rain Defender® Relaxed Fit lightweight insulated jacket. This jacket is designed to be ultra light at 1.75 ounces and features CORDURA® outer material to resist tears, scuffs and abrasions. And as the name suggests, it is water resistant in light rain. The Rain Defender Jacket has a wide color range (eight in all) and comes in tall sizes.

The hottest

On a warmer note there’s the loose fit, insulated, firm flannel-lined Active Jac. This Carhartt classic is both sturdy and comfortable, thanks to the combination of water and wind resistant duck cotton and a quilted flannel lining. This is a good heavy duty outdoor jacket for work or just to endure the colder winter days.

Extreme heat

When you need a jacket that truly stands up to the elements, Carhartt offers the Yukon Extremes® Full Swing® Insulated Jacket. This jacket has much of the look and feel of a proven Carhartt jacket right down to the corduroy lined collar and reflective tape for safety when working outside. It also has several Carhartt technologies to resist wind, rain and abrasion, and plenty of pockets.

Carhartt also protects you to keep your head and hands warm. For example, the Akron hat is a great choice if you want an alternative to the traditional beanie or beanie, with a Sherpa lining, ear flaps and a ribbed look. These hats are one size fits all and are available in two colors.

Depending on your activity, there is both the thick waterproof insulating glove, with a grippy palm and waterproof insert, and the Work-Flex high dexterity glove when you still need dexterity without removing your gloves.

This winter, Carhartt has you covered when the temperatures drop with an ever-expanding clothing line for indoors and outdoors, designed for types of uses and tastes.
