Cody Simpson reveals what gave birth to his new career as a fashion designer
Cody Simpson revealed the genesis of his clothing line, Prince Neptune: The Label, on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old Olympian told Harper’s Bazaar that her career as a fashion designer was initially born out of her love of poetry.
‘I pulled out a book of poetry [in 2020] and initially the name and idea of Prince Neptune came from the book, because I was writing and I planned to publish the work under that pseudonym,’ he said .

Cody continued, “We designed the trident symbol around that and I grew to love it so much that I wanted to expand it into a bigger, multi-faceted brand – and my first thought was the clothes. . So that’s sort of where it all started.
Cody told the publication that he started working on the line in 2020, when he started working in fashion with brands and attending runway shows.
It was there that the musician-turned-swimmer “developed an understanding and appreciation” for fashion designers.

Cody announced the launch of Prince Neptune: The Label in June when he modeled several items from his clothing line.
“I was looking for really comfortable, sustainably made sweatshirts and t-shirts and realized how hard it was to find,” he said.
“It was really important for me to stay true to my vision, both from a design point of view and what I stand for.

“We took our time to think about things like water conservation, using fewer chemicals, compostable packaging and incorporating recycled materials, and we did so without compromising comfort and the style.
“It’s important to me and hopefully to you too.”
