Westborough – Judith M. (Stone) Voutas, 78, died on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn E. and the late May E. (Bridges) Stone. She was raised and educated in Worcester and graduated from Commerce High School in 1962. She continued her nursing education at Westborough State Hospital and graduated in 1964 as a nurse licensed auxiliary and continued to work there for the next few years until she started her family.
In 1980 she began working at Westborough Nursing Home and then continued in private pediatric practice for many years until the practice closed. She then became a pediatric nurse at the Fallon Clinic (Reliant) and while working at Fallon she also worked at the Westborough Spectrum and the Riverside Community Care Center, retiring in 2010. Retirement could not hold her, she became a driver for Children with Special Needs with Vanpool finally retired in 2018.
During her childhood and adolescence, she enjoyed playing the piano and singing and became a class singer. She sang in the church’s junior, senior, and adult choir. His family rented a cabin in Cranberry Lake every summer. She started sewing in high school and later made clothes for her children. She loved ice skating, swimming, the beach, playing with her kids and spending time with her family, being a pediatric nurse, her multiple fur babies, word search books, watching her Hallmark Channel and her three little -girls. She loved being a Nana.
Judy is survived by her two children, Lisa M. and husband Peter Hitchings of Oxford and Michaela L. Voutas of Westborough; his three grandchildren, Samantha Voutas, Madison Voutas, Kimberly Hitchings and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her best friend of over 50 years, Linda Brady, and everyone who loved her and called her mom and nana.
She is predeceased by her sister Marcia Lee and her brother Vaughn (Teddy) Stone as well as her two sons, Scott A Voutas and Timothy M Voutas and her ex-husband, L Michael Voutas.
His funeral will take place on Thursday, November 17 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery will be private.
