A busy stretch of Hooper Avenue in the Silverton section of Toms River is about to become busier.

What was one of the last undeveloped sections of Hooper is gearing up for a nearly 13,000 square foot mall. The exact address is 1882 Hooper Avenue. It’s next to Alpha Plaza and across from Speedway. Before, it looked like this.

The man who knows all the openings and closings, APP David P. Willis reports that a specialty store in the Italian market (never a bad thing) and a mobile operator are already in talks to be part of the posh new retail hub.

The big addition will actually be a move.

It kind of became a mini landmark in The Brick. Pizza Hut has operated this place for a very long time. The hut makes a move though.

The real estate company responsible for this new Hooper Avenue mall says Pizza Hut is closing its Brick location and moving south to Silverton for all-new digs.

There was a time when Pizza Hut was a pretty popular place to sit down. Times have changed and the new Pizza Hut will focus primarily on delivery and take out.

What else should we expect in this new retail space? Developers tell David P. Willis that ideal tenants would include restaurants, bakeries, bagel shops, hair salons and barbershops, eyewear stores, fitness centers, pet care and emergency care.

Frankly, we don’t need the above anymore.
