The renovated stores are in the residential community of Maspeth in Queens. Both Stores Updated are part of the supermarket chain’s $140 million capital investment planned for its New York fleet.

Both supermarkets will now offer products from all over the world. For the Maspeth store, more than 1,500 additional multicultural products have been added, including Asian items, Latin dairy and groceries, and expanded halal options, Stop & Shop said in a statement. At the Glendale store, a multicultural aisle with nearly 1,000 international products, including Latin dairy offerings, as well as Puerto Rican and Caribbean products, will now be available to shoppers.

“Queens is New York’s most ethnically diverse borough and we’re proud to bring products from around the world to ‘The World’s Borough,'” Stop & Shop District Manager Al Steiger said in a statement. communicated.

Remodelings will also showcase the value, Stop & Shop said, with trash cans and the addition of the instant food program, which offers fresh foods close to their expiry date at up to 50% off.

Stop & Shop, which has more than 400 stores in Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York and New Jersey, operates 25 stores in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island, offering home delivery in all five boroughs.
