BURGERSFORT – People with disabilities at Tshepo Foundation in Bothashoek were in seventh heaven when they received provisions and clothes on Saturday.
Much-needed donations were made by a local Good Samaritan, Mpho Ngoepe, and the management of Little Rascals Preschool. The crèche is based in Burgersfort Ext 10.
Ngoepe said she volunteered to help the center celebrate Women’s Month. “We learned about the challenges faced by the people at the Tshepo Foundation and decided to help. I felt it was vital to give back to the needy. We handed over provisions which included corn flour, canned food, vegetables and many other staples.
Yolandi Coetzee of Little Rascals said they love bringing smiles to the needy and disabled.
“They were really happy. We will work more closely with the center to help in any way we can. The food and clothing handed over will last them for months to come. “
Most of the people at the Tshepo Foundation were born with cerebral palsy. Dineo Twala, the founder of the foundation, thanked the donors for their kindness.
“We have over 10 people with disabilities who have different challenges and some are teenagers. They have been transported so far, or had to stay at home, ”Twala said. She begged locals to help with donations to erect a suitable shelter.
“Currently, I take care of disabled people at my parents’ home. They come to visit every week. Any donation to children is vital, whether large or small. Twala can be reached on 072 077 1327.
